Yeah, the first Blue Murder, Lizzy´s Thunder And Lightning, Whitesnake 1987 were all amazing. But what´s he really done since then that really shows his talents off? The 2nd Blue Murder album was pretty disappointing, and since then releases have been thin on the ground. If Blue Murder 3 was to be any good, he has to get musicians of the calibre of Franklin/Appice for him to get inspired. IMHO John Sykes, like many other brilliant, yet generally underachieving musos, really should realise that working together with someone else is not an admission of inadequacy, but a recognition of the synergy that happens when two or more musicians get together and float ideas around. I feel this about several musicians, actually - that is the whole point of being in A BAND. IMHO Yngwie Malmsteen, Ronnie Dio, and Gary Hughes to name but three would benefit from a little of that attitude. I read in Classic Rock somewhere that Glenn Hughes and John Sykes may work together and that is the sort of combination that could benefit both parties - not to mention we, the listeners!
