Bon Jovi - MElbourne review

Colonial Stadium lights went out around 9 PM (on time). Video screen followed band making their way to the stage. Band appear side by side on stage and crowd goes crazy. Jon dressed in gold jeans and denium jacket is in top form. Voice sounded incredible - similar to first three albums. Probably due to him having been working on his film for last few months and his voice being really fresh. Richie is now a star in his own right and the crowd went nuts whenever he did a solo. He was dressed in leather and looked fit and happy. The huge video screen above the stage gave amazing 3-way split screen footage.

Song highlights included "You give love a bad name", "It's my life" , "Living on a Prayer", "Lay your hands on me", "Bad medicine" to name a few. Crowd reaction was amazing. Singing unaccompanied a whole chorus of "Living on a Prayer" with Jon before they did the song. At times Jon was drowned out by level of audience singing on some songs. Sound quality was fantastic. Band did 3 encores. The final two including Jimmy Barnes on stage including "Ride the night away" and "Good Times" from the Lost Boys soundtrack.

Concert highlights included Jon wearing Australian flag. Outstanding video footage on the stage screen. Richie and Jons showmanship - Jon with all his trademark killer stage moves.

State of the art rock concert.
