I made the mistake of buying a used copy of the GNR Appetite for Reconstruction CD. What a waste of money.

I guess the fact that somebody is making money off these is the reason they're being done. It's amazing what an out-of-work 80s artist will do to make a buck. If it was me, and the choice was between playing guitar on a lame tribute to make a buck or going out and getting a new career, I'd choose the tribute too.

I love the idea of tributes, as well as covers, but too many of them aren't done well enough, from what little sampling I've had.

I always liked the Dangerous Toys cover of "Fell Like Makin' Love." I've never been a big fan of Bad Company, but I used to joke with my buddy how cool it would be if Dangerous Toys recorded the "10 from 6" greatest hits package of Bad Company.
