Aviary made one album in the late 70's which was huge pomp type stuff. Not particularly heavy but still very powerful. The band were excellent musicians and the vocal harmonies were up there with Queen and Sweet for brilliance.
Eric and Mr Pomp are experts on this band and no doubt will give their answers to your question. The lead singer was called Brad Love and he has a unique voice which was quite high pitched. I think they are totally underrated. Originally they were a lot more proggy than the album shows ( record company pressure ) and disbanded after a failed attempt at a more commercial route using the name
"The Curves". They even toured the UK under this name and made one excellent,
although still unreleased lp. Sadly, I don't think anyone even knew about this and they soon dissapeared. There are lots of unreleased Aviary songs around and some of the members have done bits and pieces of other musical merit. Mr Pomp
can tell you about these.
As far as the cd reissue goes it has been delayed again but hopefully will be out
in April.
As for Valensia, Mr Pomp is responsible for putting me onto his music. This guy is a multi talented genius. His voice is similar to Brad Love on some songs.
He is influenced by The Beatles, Queen, Kate Bush and Duran Duran. I also hear
early Sparks in there too. Very wierd stuff but brilliantly done and well worth a listen. You will be well rewarded if you can afford the time.
