Hi Tony,

I'm 25 now, and I've been into melodic rock for almost 10 years...
and guess what started it all: Giant's "Time to Burn" !!!

Although the "Last of the Runaways" is one of the best rock/AOR albums ever, I don't think it matches TTB, some people feel just the other way around, but I don't think it gets any better than e.g. "Thunder and lightning", "Stay", "Time to Burn" and my personal favorite "I'll be there (when it's over)".
The thing is that LOTR is more AOR and TTB more melodic hardrock...

As far as Steelhouse Lane "Slaves..." what the hell are you waiting for...get that album asap.
I must have been since Giant's TTB that I was so impressed by an album...
Play this one VERY LOUD in your car stereo...and...you'll see what happens !!!

Some other hot tips:
* Blue Tears: Blue Tears
* TNT: Intuition
* Harem Scarem: Mood Swings
* Tyketto: Don't Come Easy
* Firehouse s/t
* Hardline
* Skid Row: Slave to the grind
*...
