all of which begs the eternal "what is aor?" question. while my (pretty much wholly negative) slant on 80s hair metal / stadium rock is obviously atypical round here, that style certainly doesn't define the whole genre. Outside our own anorak-infested world isn't Rumours regarded as the ultimate representation of AOR? or maybe Hotel California? If aor is adult oriented rock then Billy Joel's "Glass Houses" album has every right to be here although not much from Rod the Mod post mid 70s does - that's definitely pop isn't it? Probably lots disagree there...Shame about Rod cos he could definitely have done more than he has although I'm sure by the milestones he set himself he's been entirely successful. Rod is also the only man who makes me want to be a punk btw. Every time I see him and his (even then!) gang of middle-aged Lotharios (Chen, Appice etc - they know who they are!) leering at young women in the "Hot Legs" era videos - I think "there must b e something moer than this - surely this isn't rock and roll"... then I wake up realise I'm not Joe Strummer and everything is Ok again .... by the way talking of Billy Joel - you'll know - what is the Attilla album like - is it a wild freak out Deep Purple style hard rock album?
