Well, not exactly.
I do not think too many people on this board have heard
of 50's crooner Sam Cooke, but maybe have heard of his songs-
"History","Cupid", and "Twistin' the Night Away"
If you want to hear where great rock vocalist Steve Perry got his vocal chops
from, it's Sam Cooke. Listen to the singing that Sam Cooke does
on "You send Me" and tell me Steve Perry didn't lift Cooke's crooning
note for note! The best and most immediate way to hear Sam Cooke
would probably be off Napster. GO FOR IT, If you're a Journey/Perry
fan, and never heard of Sam Cooke, listening to Cooke for the first time
WILL bring a smile to your face!
