Sorry but I still don't get it.
I downloaded from Napster some material the same music companies retired without giving me the opportunity to buy it.
I bought about 250-300 cds. If I love a cd I'll surely buy it. Why do music companies have to decide which records to produce and which not? Sales figures? BULLSHIT!!!
If it was for sales figures I would have never listened to a lot of bands!
And what about buying some of my fav music genres, ie fusion records? Here in Italy 90% of music stores don't even know who some bands are. Ordering them via Internet from US stores costs me the transfer plus the high currency rate for the US dollar. This doesn't mean I'm supposed to steal the music from Napster, you're right, but I want more quality for music stores and companies. I'm waitin' for 20 years and I didn't see any changes (in positive).
Maybe this time Napster will revolution the trend. But I believe major companies will get their way. Anyway I didn't download any Metallica or Britney Spears music, I hate that @!#$. Napster only gives me the opportunity to find some extra-rare records... welcome!
