Personally I use Adaptec's software to record the LP or cassette onto a CDR first. Pick up the Y-adapter mentioned in another post from your local electronics store and run it from your stereo and into your line-in on your computer. Once I have recorded the LP or cassette as two .wav files (side one and side two), I then load them into my computer and use CoolEdit Pro to edit and clean up the tracks as I deem necessary. CoolEdit Pro also splits the two .wavs into individual tracks, and once the tracks are finished, I record the CDR at disc-at-once mode. Unfortunately, due to s crappy soundcard, I have to do the extra step of burning the cdr twice to get the results I need.
