The guest list on Aura says it all!

A while back, we were talking about Asia vs. John Wetton and how if John Payne was such a talent, why hadn't those 3 post-Wetton albums attracted more outside collaborators? It soon became evident that apparently, who you work with becomes the weight and measure of how good your work is. To these ends, I mentioned that Asia Mark II had seen cameo appearances by the likes of Carl Palmer, Steve Howe, Vinny Burns and Al Pitrelli . Well, I was quickly silenced by naysayers who dismissed the first 2 as obsolete '70s burn-outs and Vinny Burns as a middleweight etc. etc.

Now I read the guest list on the new "Aura" CD and it's re-affirms what I had always believed. Asia is still a musician's band that the top notch players want to be a part of. Simon Philips (Toto), Chris Slade (AC/DC), Tony Levin (King Crimson), Steve Lukather (Toto), Ian Crichton (Saga) to name but 5.

The proof is in the pudding, folks. John Payne and Asia are going to get some major ass this year... I'm sure the Wetton-huggers will be among the list of recipients.
