I agree, the new Firehouse is cheap. I don't think its so much the songs but more so the production. CJ'S voice is way back in the mix and the guitars are very fuzzy. Spitfire can't throw the kind of production money that Epic did on Firehouse and Hold Your Fire. What disapointed me was not the lyrical range (lets face it Shake and Tumble and Reach for the Sky were no poetry) but the bombast seemed missing. If you think about it, Firehouse 1 was a heavy as hell album! It crunched! And the production on Hold Your Fire was just insane. So, the lack of money combined with some lyrical stagnation made o2 fail. Again, too many mid-tempo ballads. A couple more tunes like Call of the Night would have helped too, but again a great song liked that suffers with weak production too. The chorus should have soared more with that dark tune. Jumpin' has potential but again, no oomph. Its restrained because they can't afford to pull their balls out on that tune.

But, man, its ten times better than the goddamn country and western Category 5 with the lame ass cover.
