John, I strongly agree with you - the Chapman era is extremely underrated. Mechanix is probably one of - if not my all-time favourite UFO album. Making Contact is also excellent IMO. Schenker era only Lights Out and Obsession really stand out. Of course the live Stanger In The Night is classic too.

I personally prefer Covenant to Walk On Water - more good songs and it just seems to gel better - but to each their own. I´m in a minority I think.

Yeah, maybe the Mogg/Way stuff is a bit overlooked although I heard that the first album with George Bellas on guitar was the fastest selling debut on Shrapnel at the time. IMHO "Edge Of The World" is far superior to "Chocolate Box" - more consistent, better songs - but I know you hate Bellas!! I do think Bellas has improved with time. I prefer his playing on "Edge.." compared to John West´s first solo album.
