Coco... you seem to have misunderstood what I said in my post. If copying does not represent a direct threat to the artist/label owner's livelihood, then I see no harm in it. If you burn, say, a copy of Fate's "A Matter of Attitude", nobody's going hungry as a result. There's no loss of sale there because there are no more copies of that CD in the stores. (Second hand shops, maybe, but artists don't see any money beyond the initial sale.) What I oppose is burning CDs that are still in print, i.e. The Sign.

Having said that, I think using the rationale that most CDs only have a few good tracks to justify piracy is a bit dodgy. Like CD burning and downloading would stop if bands created stronger, more consistent albums??!!! If anything, it would increase! More good songs= more material to burn/convert to wave files. If your grocery store was giving away free cookies and you were taking them whenever you saw fit, would the store giving away EVEN TASTIER free cookies make you suddenly want to start paying for them??? Of course not!!!

Next time you burn a new CD off the MTM label, I hope you fully considered the consequences. Sometimes when a CD gets burnt, it's not the only thing that's getting burned...
