It's inevitable, that Styx will end up in Hotels. It's a natural progression with many bands. Foghat, Badfinger- both these bands were huge at one time too, went through the reunion albums, which really were not at all, but supplemented with "new" players, and eventually the contracts stopped, and now both "bands" do the classic rock circuit ocasionally, half full clubs and, yes Hotels.

It's already started with Styx. The worthless REO/Styx live CD, now another new record, which they will largely support in the Midwest, unless they can grab a big classic rock/ package tour on the Coasts again. No one wants to know who they are anymore, and as thier audience ages, they will sell less and less records, pulling in less and less at shows, becoming less appealing to the big promoters.

Styx were at the right place at the right time in the early 70's-hence thier huge sucsess, but the World has moved on. I am not saying the band can't come up with some great music in the future, because they might, but, I wager in 5 years no one will be talking about them anymore, at least outside of these circles.
