Genuinely mourning musicians passing away?

Is it ok to do so? Is it normal to feel genuinely brought to tears about someone you have never met? Maybe a morbid topic, but in the wake of Kobe Bryant dying suddenly, and the now constant news of musicians from our genres passing away, I believe it is an interesting and relevant topic.
Most of us on here I'm assuming was born between the 60's and 80's. So we have all experienced some form of loss and grief of musicians that we have listened to and loved. In light of how gutted I surprisingly was about Kobe Bryant, it made me think about the feelings I've had surrounding a musician passing away and who I have genuinely mourned and who I would be totally floored if god forbid a current hero who is alive passed away!
So which artist has genuinely floored you when you found out they passed? And which artist still alive would have you genuinely mourning? And I mean really will floor you.
For me, the big one was Dimebag. Yes, Michael Jackson and Prince and even Lemmy and a few others shocked me, but the way Dimebag died really shook me up for quite a long time. I could list a few others, but Dime is the one that stands out for me.
And for me, if EVH ever passed away, I'd have to take a day off work. I'd be shattered. Genuinely upset for a hero that meant so much to me. I think Paul McCartney or even Ozzy would be a big one on a worldwide scale, but personally, EVH meant so much to me growing up and still does.
