Mike Oldfield/ Phenomena/solo

Max could have been an AOR god with a voice like his, but sporadic output and mediocre projects have keep him in mortal robes. After GTR, he cameo-ed on the over-rated Phenomena 2: Dream Runner CD and sang on a Mike Oldfield CD (a couple songs I remember are "Magic Touch" and "Flying Start". Not exactly essential listening.) After that, I lost track of him until he released a joyless solo album on Now and Then in the mid-90's. I think it was called "The Higher You Climb" and featured one of the worst album covers of all time. A blurry color photo of Max so bad it would have been kicked out of a family scrapbook. Then, I remember the track listing being mostly songs already recorded by Asia and/or John Wetton.
