The first three featured Kevin Godley and Lol Creme who left the band to work as a duo. They were among the forerunners of video production and made some really clever stuff but I never really listened to much of their music. 10CC went onto to be huge in the UK after Godley and Creme left and had many successful singles and albums.
Re the debut, it's a bit poppy at times but still has some harder songs whereas Sheet Music is far superior in every way and includes the wonderful Wall Street Shuffle.
All the Seventies albums are fantastic. in the 80's they produced some decent stuff in fitting with the times but they'd pretty much fallen on harder times commercially.
Someone mentioned City Boy earlier and 10CC are definitely the type of band who would appeal to fans of them. Great musicians, quirky ideas, superb production and tons of great songs.
The box set Steve (RKBluez) posted a link to is a great addition to anyone collection at a good price.
