Only got to see him once: on the Robert Plant tour in 1988, subbing for Chris Blackwell. Came away very impressed with how he drove that band. Was much more powerful than Blackwell played on Now & Zen. Torpey essentially got to play the first tour Plant did that had Zeppelin material featured again.
