Here is where I show my (lack) of age...
I am a long time fan of Aussie rock n roll, can't help it I guess being exposed to it every day, but there are a few that stand out in my mind.
The 80's is more my era (gee, guess you couldn't have guessed that!), as I only got into music with Men At Work in 1981/2...

So one of my favorite OZ rockers were always those guys and Colin Hay in just about anything he does.

Above all else, Dragon are my favorite OZ band of all time. I can listen to their tunes (70s, 80s & early 90s) anytime, anyday...
Marc Hunter's death was a huge loss to this country and to me personally.

The Sherbs (or Sherbert as they are only known here) were a little before my time, but they are always getting hammered on FM radio, as does every Daryl Brathwaite solo hit still. Good stuff mostly.
They are one of the most asked about OZ bands I get mail about. Thank God they finally did some CD re-issues...

Other fav's include:
Early Barnes and selected Cold Chisel (the ones that aren't hammered every 4th tune on the radio).
Midnight Oil
The Angels - the greatest live band never to break overseas...10x what Inxs were.
- attitude, amps and something like 20 albums!

From the 80s (while we are talkign OZ rock..)
Screaming Jets - bad boys of pub rock
Choirboys - more commercial MHR
Noiseworks - pure Aussie pop rock / anthem AOR....Jon Stevens is now with Inxs.
early Inxs - Shabooh Shabah, The Swing, Listen Like Thieves
rockier John Farnham - he can sing like a God
Boom Crash Opera - non commercial pub rock
Spy Vs Spy (for my dose of political rock)
Nick Barker - for the blues bar room rock n roll

I think that's about it. Stay tuned for the above to be featured in the OZ soundbytes area.

Best regards,
Andrew.
