Strangeways

weren't, IMPO, as good as The Sign, but there's undeniable quality there. They are much more towards straightforward a la Journey AOR. What made them a little different was that, apart from the ballads, a lot of the songs seemed to be based round the rhythm rather than the chord sequence, interesting for an AOR band or maybe I'm just hearing something that wasn't there. From interviews I've read, I believe (if I may paraphrase) that the main songwriter in Strangeways now considers all this work to be a pile of commercial old pooh he wrote to sell records. Is he failing to support the scene? Shame on him :-)
