H.e.a.t - Into The Great Unknown

Anybody listening to this today? Thoughts on the full album?
Personally, I've loved the past 2 albums and like this one a lot too. I think much has been made of the "new direction" as a result of the first few singles but it really doesn't feel like a whole new direction to me after hearing the whole album.
I mean, Tearing down the Walls really had a lot of variety IMO. A Shot At Redemption was commercial and different, Tearing Down The Walls was a different ballad for the band, Mannequin Show was very theatrical, We Will Never Die was AORish, All The Nights a piano ballad, etc. Sure, there were good rocks songs too but there was variety sprinkled in that album.
Feel like the same thing is happening here although there are one or two less up tempo rock songs. There's still a few outright rockers and plenty of variety. I'm just finding it interesting to listen to and while there are definitely some WTF moments, I'm still digging it and think it fits pretty well with the past couple albums while no copying what they've already done.
I can see people not liking it though and understand where they're coming from. If somebody wants a big, up tempo, rocking melodic hard rock album, this isn't it. And if somebody wants a pure AOR album like early H.e.a.t, this also isn't it. I do still feel like they chose poorly with the first single being Time On Our Side as that just isn't what most fans wanted to hear as a lead single after a 3 year layoff.
That said though, I think people that have liked the past couple albums, who like Erik Gronwall and those that are open to some variety will mostly like the album. The production is huge and Erik really shows off his pipes on some of these songs.
Also have to add that IMO, the Japan version of this album is really enhanced with the bonus song F Y I Miley as it adds one more big rocker to the album....it's probably the heaviest song on the album. They absolutely should've included this song on the standard album IMO and it would've fit great after the poppy Do You Want It.
I wouldn't put it ahead of TDTW or ATN as both those albums are near perfect albums for me. But still like it a lot. Maybe I'm just a fanboy as just about everything they've done on the last 3 albums sounds good to me :)
