New show on HBO here in the states. This is a great speech about why America isn't the best country in the world. Too bad politians won't watch this and take heart. I don't mind the speed of dialogue - I loved it in the West Wing. Although the biggest problem I have is just how badly cast Mac is. Emily Mortimer is just wrong for that role in every way. She was great in the pilot and there seemed real potential in this damaged, brilliant producer. As the series has gone on she's just been like a dippy, wet schoolgirl and a million miles away from 'the best producer in the business' - as other characters would have us believe. I was trying to think who should have played her and the only names I can think of are a young Alison Janney or a young Rachel Griffiths.

Apart from those niggles I love the show - it's flawed brilliance for me and the rest of the cast and the concept is brilliant.
