O/T Your favorite "unknown" artist

If you'd pick one, not so well-known artist/band, who would that be? If you want to "promote" more than one, be my guest but try to limit yourselves to most favorites. Music genre, completely open of course.

My pick is MrNorth, a band I discovered from melodic.net, they seem to have an audience (or devoted fan base if you prefer) limited in NYC and I believe that they have enough quality to deserve more exposure, hence this thread.

Info: http://www.melodic.net/?page=artist&id=mrnorth

Completely random choice of song:

Also, it's a nice opportunity to say thanks to the guys in melodic.net for the bands I discovered because of them.

Same with old blues. Same exact rhythm patterns and lyrical bent in that stuff. Now--you take ANY style and infuse/improve it into rock, and it comes alive for me. It's good to listen to other types of stuff and broaden the mind, although I don't have a problem if people don't want to or can't like anything other than rock music. It comes back to the biggest issue I've always had with some rock fans; that they dismiss anything that isn't rock as utter shit. I don't like too much jazz, classical or reggae. But I try to respect all styles of music and realise there are some very talented musicians operating within those genres. That's probably not just a characteristic of rock fans mind, as I'm sure it's probably the same within all genres. I just don't spend enough time conversing with followers of techno to find out :-))
