There's an acclaimed documentary film out right now called &amp;quot;Searching for Sugar Man&amp;quot; that has gotten excellent reviews. It's about an obscure singer from the US who only released one album, basically, way back when, that sold zilch. But the album was rumored to be a masterwork. And somehow, through sheer coincidence and luck, it became enormously successful in South Africa. Yet no one knew who this guy was, all they knew is that he had killed himself many decades before.

Just goes to show you how strange the biz is...sometimes you can have a career in music - or not - through pure luck/chance, whether the promo is there or not.
