Does anyone know if 'Sabotage' (and 'Never say Die') has been released in this series? I can't find i anywahere. There are some fabulous songs on these four albums : "A National Acrobat", "Symptoms of the Universe", "Junior's Eyes", "Dirty Women", "Sabbra Cadabra", "Megalomania", and so on... and there must be some live tapes laying around from that '74-'78 era ?

It's real strange about that 7th Star gig. I remember having tickets for that but me and my mate turned up and the gig had been cancelled. That though was actually with Glenn Hughes. Report in Kerrang I believe suggested he'd had a meltdown... If I recall correctly - and I may well be wrong - they rescheduled the UK shows with Ray Gillen. Easily one of the best songs on Cross Purposes, imo, but left off the domestic release. Sabbath management was never any good..

Seventh Star has the famous Hammersmith Odeon live show from 1986. The late Ray Gillen on vocals.

I think Forbidden will still be a weaker release, but with Loser Gets it All (one of the better songs on the album) and a proper mix, it will be a far more enjoyable listening experience. I have long decried the absence of the brilliant "Cloak and Dagger" from Headless Cross so news of further additions is welcome. Which album session was "What's The Use" from? I haven't heard of that before. A remix of Forbidden could be good too since IMHO there are a few good songs on there that suffer from a rather muddy production.

The likely reason for this was that they didn't have any b-sides, unused demos, or compelling lives shows [the Asbury Park live show from 1975 has already been released]. Of course, they could release demos with Dave Walker but that's not going to happen. Incidentally, I don't think the sound quality of the remastered Never Say Die and Sabotage is any good - you're best keeping the original warner discs.

The Tony Martin years at IRS are due the deluxe treatment, however. When that gets done is another story [likely after the record and tour]. Those records had quite a few killer b-sides - What's the Use, Loser Gets it All, etc. - so this has potential.
