Soleil Moon - On the Way to Everything

Got this album for Christmas on the strength of 'History Repeats Its Pages' and I have to say, I'm not disappointed! Absolutely loving this CD. You can really hear the time and thought that's got into the songwriting, arrangements and performances. Really mature, sophisticated, and heartfelt stuff. Reminds me of Richard Marx at his best. I can see how some of it is a bit 'soft rock' and jazzy for most AOR fans (in fact, I hear a lot of Jonathan Cain and Jim Peterik's solo sound in here) but, personally, I would rate this in the mid 90s (no disrespect to Andrew). Yeah, it's laid back (mostly) but it just oozes quality and class.

Also loving the bonus tracks.

Does anyone have a CD copy of their first album they'd like to sell (or know where I can get a copy for a reasonable price)? I'm guessing Frontiers aren't likely to re-release it given the 3 bonus tracks on the new album.

Awesome stuff.

Cuz if you like the style of the SM then I'd bet you'd adore Ambro's first one. I'm guessing it's on y-tube or at least a few tunes. I'd suggest Time Waits For No One,Drink Of Water,and/or World Leave Me Alone. But the entire thing is a great, great listen. Cheers, T

Slightly similar perhaps to the debut by Ambrosia from way back (tho that had some slightly proggy moments here & there ala later Beatles). Superb playing, great vocals, clever songwriting, great sound.
I really hope they release more material together.
It's a shame these guys weren't on Frontiers radar when they were manufacturing their own version of Giant. Larry King on vocals and John Blasucci on keys with David Huff & Mike Brignardello and John Roth on guitar would have put together an excellent album, in my mind (under whatever name, to be honest). They'd bring together the cream of the California AND Nashville session artist scene.
I really hope we hear more from Larry King. He's one of those guys like Joe Retta or Gene Miller, with this excellent voice, but whose recorded works are really minimal. It's criminal.
Niv
