I totally fucking love his work with Shania, especially her last album UP which is so brilliant in the production and song writing that few things impress me more...Dark Horse with Nickelback is IMO the best hard rock production in modern times, many people give the Maroon 5 album shit but i am totally sure they never gave that album the chance of growing because it does BIG TIME, i wasn't totally sold at first but had it in my Iphone while traveling and it's a great album.

But...music is a feeling..you either feel something or you don't so it all comes down to personal taste :)

He's a very good guitarist, and a technically sound producer, but I find myself not always being in the mood for his work, because of the way it sounds.

Even a band like Toto, that is very slick and polished, never let the production make their music cold. There was always a certain warmth that I do not hear or feel in Mutt's work.

Mike and Mutt worked together for i think it was 6 years during City Boy and Mike has told me he pretty much learnt most of what he knows from Mutt...and knowing them both they are just as brutal and demanding haha...but in a very loving way....they are just going for perfection which takes A LOT of work.

I think Mike would do an amazing job producing DL...
