I played in my basement forever and ever, but never started a band or seriously sat down to write a song. Only riffs and short ideas that I kept on cassette tape. As I got older, I got busy with my career - then got married, had two kids, etc... Long story short, I finally got my act together and wrote ten songs that I just started recording at a local home studio. I'll print up some CD's just to have as a keepsake - something I created out of thin air. The process has been a lot of fun so far and I can see myself even writing and recording a second album. The moral of the story is it's never too late to do something you want to do! I gave up drums for 15 years but after moving to New Zealand decided to pick it up again... I play in a covers band and a tribute band now and have vowed not to give up again for another 20 years at least...the people I've met through music "second time around" have been really nice and while a part of me wishes I hadn't given it up for so long, I agree it's never too late to do what you want to do...!
