What is going on with them? They release a new cd and set up big tour. Then they cancell alot supposedly because of exhaustion then of course Eddie s health scare. But thought they were goin to continue to tour. But all I hear is David doin this or doin that like singing with former nirvana members. Just sounds like typical van halen crap. I think my original feeling when I gave them a listen some time ago was that if I want laid back stuff I'd listen to the Eagles and for a bit more upbeat 38 Special or Blackfoot. To me they didn't seem the best at anything if you know what I mean.

I didn't give them much of a chance so ........I'll check out their latest. Whether them recapturing the original spirit is a good thing or not I won't know until I know if I like their early stuff LOL.

As a huge VH fan of both eras I came in with very low expectations and had them smashed. Having said that the album hasn't proven to have the staying power of the classic material , but compared to other bands of their vintage .....not much of a contest IMO. Obviously Van Halen have made a rod for their own back with all the shit over the years, so now if Eddie's health takes a turn for the worse or Wolfie has exams to finish and a chance to tour with his friends, the forums light up with rumours of Dave and Eddie hating each other... But i think it seems fairly obvious that it was going to take some time to get over that before they can tour again.
