Book - Ace Frehley - No Regrets

I am not a big fan of Ace's. I think he is an horrible singer, and a passable guitar player. This said, I really enjoyed reading his book. He comes across as a good guy, who realizes he made mistakes and moves forward with his life. He seems to be in a good place. There is a bit of unveiling regarding the inner-working relationship in KISS, but not too much. Still a good read overall.

To this day, his KISS solo album is my favourite of the four. Actually, I also love Paul's but think that Ace's and Gene's suck big time.

Waste of talent? I am not sure Ace and Peter were really talented to start with. They were lucky and fucked up. When you read his book, it seems that Ace's IQ put him in the "genius" category. Well, he may have the brain but some connections got lost along the way! He doesn't come across as really intelligent.

He admits that most of the stories are the recollection of others as he doesn't actually recall most of his own life. Perhaps that's why he can distance himself from his actions. Apparently he has started work on the follow up.

Peter's book is the most bitter autobiography I've ever read & a lot of the stories seem to be cribbed almost word for word from other Kiss related books.

I thought Gene's book was good although obviously rich in the delusion we've become accustomed to.

Paul's autobiography, the one he repeatedly said he would never write, will be coming out next year. As he's the most protective of his own privacy I can't imagine him revealing too much about himself. It feels like it will be released purely to rebuff the claims of the other three.

At times, it was absolutely hysterically funny although he's certainly lucky to be alive... read Gene's book years ago and it was certainly classic Gene; oozing with ego... Now I'm about halfway through Peter's book at the moment and let me tell you, regarding Paul and especially Gene; the gloves are certainly off!!! Can't imagine either of them will be happy about it!!!
