Agree with this. I'd put money on lots of nurses at the hospital being hounded by tabloid hacks from the second they heard Kate was in - the levenson hearings heard that hacks would target hospital staff to get info, and probably found out the nurses name who transferred the call and hounded her aswell. I'm not a fan of pranks and practical jokes. By their nature they require a victim to work.
Some people are sensitive souls, some cultures take shame very much to heart. You just never know the effect a 'joke' might have.
Hopefully people will think twice now about lame pranks though I doubt it. The fact is that they didn't believe there would be any repercussions, which isn't unreasonable but, as Gav rightly said, you never know who you're dealing with when you play practical jokes. If you throw a stone into the water you WILL get ripples. Make no mistake it was this call, and the subsequent shame and fear placed on the lady concerned shoulders (magnified greatly because of the royal connection), that lead to her taking her own life.

Did the DJ's mean to push someone to suicide? No way, but they did.....and there's no getting away from it. But - have you seen the Internet reaction to this? On the radio station Facebook page and assorted other pages. It's ridiculous, like a feeding frenzy of hate and negativity.

Society should take a hard look in the mirror. That I agree with, but c'mon, who could have ever predicted the tragic outcome of this one? From what I heard of the call, the DJ's were gobsmaked that they were actually being taken seriously.
