Stage acting/video posing of Melodic Rock bands

I really love the music, but why is the stage acting/video posing of most Melodic Rock bands so lame!?

It really looks like a 'pensioner's summertime trip' when a band like TRIUMPH (e. g. Sweden Rock) hits the stage nowadays... (What about a stage outfit Mr. Emmet?)
Johnny Lima (I really love this guy!!) looked like a lost time traveller from the 80's when he hit the stage at Firefest!
Or take a look at the new ECLIPSE video. Great song, great energy... but the video doesn't display any of it...

If any young people watch shows/video like this, then it's clear to me why they don't get attracted to Melodic Rock music anymore...

I'm sad... :-(

Whenever he wasn't singing, Brian Fallon was lurking at the back of the stage doing the 'show the other guitarist how you play this bit' pose. Wasn't expecting Poison's firemans pole, but....

Looking at the grunge bands - have you seen the footage of Eddie Vedder swinging from the rafters, 30ft above the audience? Apparently, Chris Cornell used to loosen the stitches of his shirts so he could rip it off, Hulk Hogan style. Again, they hadn't raided the dressing up box or their mums make up bag (Mother Love Bone aside..), but there was still a show.

I dont mean that ina fashion sense, I mean it just doesnt fit their music or their fan base.

I dont feel there is a need for bands to be wearing OTT 'stage clothes' anymore BUT do agree that if you are an upbeat rock band you should make some sort of effort to portray that feeling in your live/video shoots.

Andy

What's wrong with Juan Croucier, I did and still do think his stage moves were/are cool!I love drummers who do the pointy thing with their sticks too!(and then preferably smash them down into water!). I do avoid going to see some of the old bands now because there is no fun in seeing what looks like an accountant or teacher doing hair metal!

Always hated the dress ups and whatnot. Some expense was okay but hated the lipstick hairspray era and would much prefer they kicked it in their day digs LOL... Honestly while grunge took the flannel etc way too far (or at least the bandwagon jumpers did) it was a breath of fresh air for the most part.

Now don't get me wrong. Just my 2c and I LOVED and continue to love tons of this music regardless both old and new. But surely I'm not the only one who looks back and remembers many of those MTV clips cheapening otherwise good tunes!?

And as far as modern day goes, last I looked this is MR AOR whatever, so keep it that way and let yer music and performances do your talking. Unless yer relying on some image seeking attention method such as Marylin or Slipnot (hate both images) LOL then don't go trying too hard ya know!?
