I agree with both viewpoints.

It's raining, Jon is older, he lets the crowd do way too much of the singing, doesn't move, etc.

But like someone else said, you can't epect everyone to react the same way - some people can keep it up, others can't. And that's ok.

That said, there's more to Springsteen than meets the eye. The man has more soul than Jovi, more of a true passion for his audience and his music, whereas Bon Jovi is a more corporate kind of rock, though still heartfelt in some measure. That 'vibe'is what elevates Springsteen into legendary status, and robably what keeps him crowd-surfing well into his 60s.

Fair enough..we all get older, but there is absolutely zero feeling in any of their music these days. They arent THAT old....I just saw Aerosmith last weekend and they definitley still have it. No stiffs on the stage.

That's actually a pretty good performance, really. Jon sounded decent, crowd sings the chorus - standard stuff.

But yeah I assume the rain is the reason Jon is a bit 'stiff', which he is here no doubt.

yup but every body is different. Just like in sports, some people can still play at a high level into their 40's and some flame out mid 30's. Springsteen may be able to do what he does, but it doesn't mean other can.

Can't believe they still mix Shout in with Bad Medicine. They were doing that 20 years ago. That kind of thing should be changed on each and every tour to keep it fresh, otherwise it just seems like a well drilled machine going through familiar motions.

Agree with Springsteen but Jon never had his energy or sheer love of the music. He just doesn't have it flowing through him like the Boss does.

..I wouldn't wasted 3 minutes of my life.

They were once a fast paced hard rock band, they got older. People seem to forget 1987 was 25 years ago. In recent years they have joined the "they are now a touring institution type band"..a-la STONES etc.

Industry corporate gig in the rain!

They may not be the band they were but from '87 to '96 they were untouchable for me, best band on the planet and some phenomenal live shows.

Age, fags, booze have all taken their toll on jon's voice and he was never the best singer in the world anyway. But respect were respect is due from Slippery to These Days was an awesome run of albums.
