Sass Jordan:

Someone mentioned her in a thread below. I've heard 3-4 radio tracks by her that I really liked back when. Great voice! But I never heard any of her releases. Went picking around on y-tube and found some other tunes I mostly liked alot, including some live vids and she nailed everything! Damn good band tho with different players most times(?). Anyway-- I really liked some of the upbeat stuff with keys and I think it was from a cd that came out in '06? Seems like she changed gears a bit over time and maybe is a bit more contemporary these days? Anyone here a fan that can stear me to her best/most consistent album, maybe as a starting point? Thanks, T

Re: Sass Jordan:

I'm a HUGE Sass fan. Her best work, as most others mentioned, is Rats, followed by Racine. The S.U.N. project is fantastic as well. Her late '90's stuff, Present & Hot Gossip, was more poppy...like she was going after that Lilith Fair crowd. Didn't work and she confused the fanbase she had built with her rock albums. The following two albums, Get What You Give and From Dusk Til Dawn are more rock based, albeit toned down and more bluesy.

As for S.U.N., it's a great classic rock album, kinda like Black Country Communion made two years ago. BTW, I don't think Tommy Stewart played drums on the album, just a live member as Tichy can't do both on stage.

I may wat that new S.U.N. project. But there's something not quite 'there' with the consistency of the other releases. Some tracks sound great, others good to just ok. And--my apologies,2112. Brain Tichy--on guitar?! Who knew? There def IS a bit of a Zep vibe going on and I love that. but overall there's an updated, modernized feel to the sound. When I first started listening, I thought-- is this thing gonna be..grungy??! (Oh,No!!). But as I listened more--it sounded vey coo-every track. Now I have to get over to y-tube and see if any full tunes are up there yet. Thanks for the nod, guys. T

PS: and I need to get to those Sass samples at Amazon as well...

Likely the most blues-driven affairs, Id guess? The later ones seemed to injest a bit more pop/contemporary flair upon adding the keys,if I'm correct about this.
