Quincy Jones was great up through around 1983.

I like Bill Bottrell for recording vocals and dryer guitar sounds.

Max Norman and Ron Nevison always got good guitar sounds but weren't so great with the rest of the band.

Jon Brion gets great performances out of whoever he decides to record. Same with Ted Templeman.

I apologize, but the mention of "Dieter Bohlen" had me puking my dinner on the keyboard.
Guy is surely the most disliked (non-)"musician" producer by any real musician here in Germany, does the German-version of Idol since 10 years and creates throwaway-pop/disco crap with non-talented hacks for teens that all sound the same.
( Sure I know he has been doing Bonnie Tyler, Chris Norman... in the past but please...!! Modern Talking anyone ?!? )

Many people have said it : The German version of this "talent?" show greatly differs (for our much much worse) as compared to other countries for example Canada where the guy from Harem Scarem is involved or USA where long carreers like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson have evolved.
