Sunstorm w/ JLT:

Just got a loan copy of this debut(?..are there others?) cd. I have to say that I'm enjoying this cd first time through. isn't it one of those Frontiers project deals with the usual subjects and JLT on lead? I'm getting a very Survivor-ish' feel from this--which was the usual intent ,given the source (always between them and Journey,it seems). But this cd seems pretty strong,song-wise. I'd have to say this is just as good as that new Jamison cd. Same kind of vibe here, surely. THink I might even prefer this,as the JJ cd gets a bit samey overall (and I always dislike that). eVen so-- I'll likely get the JJ cd down the road. Anyone fond of this Sunstorm cd? It's also one of the best thing's Joe has sung on.
The sequels were also both very good, but the debut just sounds like a lost album from 1986, it features some great Jim Peterik songwriting (before he became all cabaret), and excellent cuts from Van Stephenson (one of the finest writers to exist) and John Parr.
Still play it regularly, unlike many other "project" albums released since...
Niv

Is that the debut or was it simply a S/T release?. This one is pretty decent, I have to admit. Funnily enough--I'm pretty sure I have one of them buried in my collection somewhere. And I can't recall caring for it much or giving it more than a couple spins. It may even be this very same one,but I'm enjoying it now nonetheless. T
