I really enjoyed Anathema's last two cd's so primarily went to see them. Excellent band but Im sure they will agree that they have had better nights. Went to see Opeth with an open mind and have listened to some of their cd's. Very talented musicians but I have to say OUCH !!!!. Im sorry to say that I had to admit defeat and left early. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Why oh why do artists feel the need to revert to death grunts/growls throughout much of their material. I really enjoy hard rock bands and thoroughly enjoy Sabbath, Dream Theater, Edguy, Nightwish etc. I just dont get it when bands ruin to my ears, perfectly good songs with these grunts. On the side of balance, the majority of the audience really liked the band, so it really is only my opinion.
