Paul Di'anno rant in Donetsk, Ukraine...

Once again, Paul Di'Anno going crazy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQARA_e6OzE

Actually sad, singing terrible and the band not good...
playing in a pub infront of something like 70 people

30 years ago and still bitter ... ( The "Bruce Dickinson" shouter probably afraid he would actually jump down and destroy him...)
The thing goes on after each song until the end, so his favorite band are the Ramones, and it gets even funnier ("Please touch me" the fan shouts, Paul "I can't walk" over there... ;-) :-)

Granted club tours but he paid the bills. Plus if he was reliable and put on a good show the demand for him would be more. I also love the album Killers Murder One which IMO was the closet thing he did that was Maiden ish

But his style suited the early, more LIZZY/UFO/PRIEST like sound. He was never Punk..by that I mean what we Brits call 70's Punk. Sure, no doubt he could have gone that way..but real Brit punk he/MAIDEN circa 79-81 were not.

PD needs to get his life in order..he sadly appears to going down the wrong route. Lose weight, shape up..he's still got some potential for a niche market.

KILLERS is a better record that anything after SSOASS to present. The last 3 or 4 have been bloated crap. Not a classic MAIDEN single in sight.

I now appreciate how 'clever' the band were technically (especially for a relatively young band) and the songs were wonderfully crafted. I never really rated Paul as a singer but listening to those early albums again I can see why he still feels aggrieved and overlooked. His contributin to the Maiden 'sound' which is still evident was massive and he should get some credit for that.

He does himself no favours though with his 'silly' antics.

Andy

Iron Maiden was the first band I ever saw live and that was with Di'Anno at the great old Marquee club in Wardour street.
