Aerosmith First Week Sales

Bad news for the band. 63k in the first week. I know it's a different world out there in music, but this is abysmal for any established act.

It was uploaded by some wankers months back, and they have lost a shitload of sales to torrents. SHITLOADS. I have a life and I am old, which means I work early and turn in pretty early. No chance of seeing bands on the Today Show or Late Night! Cant even manage to stay awake for Sons Of Anarchy every Tuesday! Those 'one off' appearances are fine but they need an ad campaign to really get noticed. A slick 30 second TV ad...running during NFL games or NASCAR races, would be a VERY wise investment. Marketing 101.

Check youtube for it. They were interviewed (the entire band),abd played live outside on a concert stage--this from New York City. That's pretty major exposure,I'd say. So people ARE aware they have a new cd out. I'm pretty sure they'll keep selling quite well for the next 2-3 weeks or better. BUT- if classic rock radio ignores them,it won't help sales. I'm pretty confident that Steven appearing on American Idol has cost them a lot of respect and sales from older fans. It does have moments of early material influence, along with their tried & true ballad style tracks. But it's a pretty 'deep' listen, not an immediate one. It may grow on people enough to boost sales--hope so. I haven't jumped on a purchase yet,and I'm a huge fan. Been listening at youtube and I'll be getting it soon. But--does that bode well? Normally I'd have gotten it on release day,and some are feeling similarly-apparently. Even radio was there to boost 'Jaded' from JPP. These long years later, will they support them at all this time out? There are a few good tracks and one killer (IMO) in What Could Have Been Love. That pushed as THee hit single and then FM radio covering a few of the other solid tunes would give it a major sales boost. But...will that happen? T
