"There's always more down"

Just when you think an artist could do no more damage to his career.

Yngwie Malmsteen new neoclassical extravaganza has none other than... Yngwie Malmsteen on vocals.

FFS. If your listening mate, hey I was a massive fan for over 10 years and always kept up with your stuff. But: bottom line;

Your guitar playing is incomparable.
70% of your songs since 1997 have not hit the mark.
Your singing is not your best feature.
You NEED to write with others to bring the most of your talent out.

Otherwise? Honestly? Who gives a fu@k. Cant see me buying this.

I still have the two Alcatrazz releases he's on and his first four solo albums, but I figure after that I've pretty much heard all he's got to offer. One of my favorite Malmsteen moments is his guitar solo in "Little Savage" from the first Rising Force album. It shows taste, restraint and raw emotion...something severely lacking in later years. His arrogance and consuming ego seem to overshadow and heavily influence everything since. I just wish his soloing served the songs, rather than vice versa.
