Michael Thompson Band - Future Past

I tried this album at the time of release and thought it was quite weak and didn't feel for this kind of music at the moment. Now, I went back to it (Spotify) and listened to the title track.

Wow, this sounded great, I thought. I then went throught the whole album and the album really has potential....but Larry King's vocals started to annoy me on more than one song. My god, his voice is rough!

I then remembered Andrew featuring a review of "Future Past" many months ago, so I looked it up and.....spot on, Andrew!
I agree with every word in that review (apart from favourite songs).

There are some fantastic songs on the disc and with a slightly improved production and a different vocalist it could've been massive. Now, it's
just another case of "almost".

I hope the rought voice on MTB isn't intentional.

It's mostly the choruses that is ruined (well, almost) by his gravely approach on MTB, the verses sound fine for the most part.

// Figge

Agree with you Figge, it's rough indeed. Same reason I can't enjoy vocalists like Paul Shortino (too rough for my taste).
