Never had any huge desire to see 'em,Scott. i've seen concerts of them on tv,and they played everything at lightning speed. made them seem even more like a wind-up toy with Jagger as the head clown up there. The songs were so fast even he couldn't keep up and missed half the words for being out of breathe. The one thing I WILL commend is their longevity (and they DO have some great tunes here & there). T

Man i don't know Terry, Some Girls is a pretty good album start to finish. Till that release the Stones were kind of floundering, but Some Girls provided kind of a renewed interest in the Stones. That being said i can't argue that a lot of Rolling Stones albums have a lot of filler.

I passed on a chance to see them for $25 back in 82, and have been kicking myself since.

Im not a big Stones fan and Undercover Of The Night is probably the last one I was into, but this is actually pretty good.

Even with the link sitting right there in front of me, I haven't heard it yet... As it's been with much music for me lately. :-( It's impossible for me to listen at work (despite it being the location I'm at a computer most). When I get home, I'm running around doing all sorts of mommy, accountant, homeowner, chauffer and gopher duties that I never get to sit down and preview anything that's been coming out.

Any way... The reason I'm replying is that I saw mention on the other board that a tour is indeed being booked, but not all dates are confirmed yet:

Exclusive: The Rolling Stones will indeed play 50th anniversary concerts. And I am told they will go on sale this weekend–maybe as soon as Friday. Ticketmaster will handle the sales. All hell is going to break loose, too.

What I’m told: confirmed dates are November 26 and 27 at the O2 Arena in London. December 15th and 16th are set for the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The dates for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn are coming, but not agreed to yet.

This column was first to break the Prudential Center news two weeks ago. We were also first to tell you about Barclays and O2.

So what’s been the delay? Money, money, money. The Stones want it. Richard Branson is putting up $25 million to make all this happen with concert promoter Paul Dainty.

Once all the London-New York shows are sold, look for more dates. You know that Los Angeles and a few other big cities are guaranteed in 2013. It’s only rock and roll, but we like it!

Meantime, HBO has a premiere scheduled for the Stones documentary “Crossfiret Hurricane” by Brett Morgan set for November 13th in New York.

Little story about EOMN. Never heard it until a few years back when a bud of mine loaned me the cd version. i'd always heard it toted as their best work. Well...I liked the 2-3 radio tunes I'd heard many times. The rest? MEh. A defining moment when I hands down KNEW I was no real Stones fan. T

PS: same happened with Springsteen. Heard his Born To Run cd. Total Meh..just not my cuppa--either of 'em.

If one or two duff tracks are allowed what about Exile On Main Street? Their masterpiece imho, and for a sprawling double album pretty consistent bar a couple of duds.

Yeah--maybe that one. But MANY bands have put out great albums with maybe one,two duff tracks. With The Stones,it tended to be the opposite,IMO. T

If they don't want to do full albums enough with the GH packages and either release a live show CD with a couple of new tracks or just digital singles. Really good track!

Thanks for the link Ramsay. Great tune. Too bad it's on another greatest hits package. I was just thinking the other day that a new Stones album would be nice. I figured Rush, Kiss, Springfield, and soon Aerosmith, why not Mick and the boys.
