ELO on BBC4

Bit of an ELO night here in the UK, advert on national TV. Dedicated night of music on BBC4. Just how much is this costing Frontiers?

Anyway never a real fan before but somehting clicked tonight so may well have to investigate further.

So maybe there will be a tour or a new ELO line-up for a new album out of that? I know Gregg Bissonette was the drummer for the 2001 live shows (all 2 of them!).
You'd think after Kelly Groucutt's sad, untimely passing he'd think "let bygones be bygones"... they aren't getting any younger. Although The Orchestra and ELO II have released some good stuff and are very good live.
Niv

Surely must be one of their biggest signings? Sure they have Journey, but this guy produced The Beatles last hit!
I wonder if Jeff/ELO signing to Frontiers (after years with Epic) is a sign of other big name artists moving over to the independent route, where they'll have more control over their output than age-old contracts with the big labels? The only band I can think of having a big contractual dispute with Frontiers is Toto?
Niv

Next year will see the release of a concert recording, ELO Live!, as well as expanded reissues of ELO's 2001 album, Zoom, plus Lynne's 1990 solo effort, Armchair Theater. Additionally, a new solo album, with all-new material, is on the horizon.

"I've done eights songs so far, and I need another three or four, maybe," said Lynne. "And that will hopefully come out next year, too. It's slightly shifted over from things I would normally do.

Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/premiere-jeff-lynne-covers-soul-nugget-mercy-mercy-20120921#ixzz28T0tsDht
