Nickelback and Daughtry, Birm NIA tonight, can't wait!

Off to Brum in a bit to see these 2 corking bands. I'm particularly a massive fan of the 3 Daughtry CDs and was miffed I missed them supporting Nickelback a couple of years back (will never get to the one-off headlining midweek shows in London) so really excited to see Daughtry live, even if they only play for 45 minutes or so.

I love Nickelback singles and most album tracks too so really looking forward to a night of quality modern alt/melodic rock from these 2 bands. Might not have much voice left by the end of the night with the amount of sing-a-longs to come!

Anyone else going?

A bit too much banter for my liking, but musically they were amazing.
The whole technichal side (screens, pyros etc) was cut down from 2009. I liked Photograph from 2009 with all their photos being displayed in the background for instance,.

Firstly Chad Kroeger can't sing-He can, he was awesome. Secondly Nickelback are wimpy and can't rock-they did! with the guitar sound on 'Burn It To The Ground', 'This Means War'and 'Soemthing In Your Mouth' as gut wrenchingly heavy as anything that i have heard.
Great concert from a great live band. Will be interesting how they sound again at Wembley next week.

Great stage presence and setlist although I was a bit disappointed they only did 'No Surprise' off my favourite Daughtry CD 'Leave This Town' and did 2 tracks from debut (amongst 5 in total) that I like but am not so fussed on ('Feels Like Tonight', 'There and Back Again').

Nickelback were just awesome! I enjoy their albums but find the overtly pervy lyrics and swear words not to my liking too much at times so don't own loads of their albums. Did a compilation of their singles and tracks that aren't so blatantly pervy a few months back though and it's on in my car constantly. So Daughtry was my major pull to book this gig but Nickelback rocked the arena, packed out to almost full, with a superb set, rocking show, fantastic sound, spectacular lights and video show and really natural, relaxed and funny interactions on the stage and with the crowd. A truly superb live band and 10/10 for me. Loved it!

I must admit, I was so far from the stage at the O2 Arena that I felt totally disengaged from the gig. It was like watching a DVD. Add to that the cost of refreshments - £4.60 for a Coca-Cola - and some arseholes in the crowd who spent the entire gig chatting, texting and acting like total twats, I must admit it wasn't the best gig I've ever attended. But that's more to do with the venue/crowd than the bands.

I've seen Nickelback at smaller venues - Shepherds Bush Empire a few years ago - and that was much more pleasurable.

But don't listen to me - I'm just being grumpy! Enjoy tonight!
