Hey, new album arrived yesterday and just working my way through it. It doesn't surprise me that some people don't like 'Delusional' - it's cheesy as all hell... but I LOVE it! :-) Peterik through and through! Positive, uplifting, driving and motivational. The video's a little toe-curling in places, but I guess you gotta go with it! (If you're gonna do cheese, you might as well do uber-cheese and it conveys the message of the song!) :-) It's one of those "instant repeat" tracks for me. (I await the flaming! ;-) ) Looking forward to the rest of the album! I think the video emphasises the cheese!

Anyone else notice how the versions of the song in this video and Fergie Frederiksen's Follow Your Heart are slightly different from the album versions? ... But Survivor had their cheesy moments... (High On You, How Much Love, even something like Light of a Thousand Smiles)... I think maybe it stands out more with POL because cheesyness was part of the era back when the Survivor albums were released.

Don't get me wrong, it's right at the far edge of my cheese-tolerance levels, but I still love it! Was laughing at the sheer over-the-topness and hookiness of the chorus when it hit! I think it either puts you off and you disengage, or you go "Ha! Yeah - that's Jim Peterik alright! Fantastic!" and roll with it!

It's given me a huge dopey grin on my face! Survivor were always my favourite melodic rock band and Peterik is one of my "try to collect everything" songwriters, so of course I'm gonna like this! That chorus is HUGE!

Suspend your disbelief, people! Go with it! :-D

(Off to listen to my Broadway musical collection right before I go to my Glee club... ;-) ) :-P
