At 9.26 this morning, the whole country had an earthquake drill. Where ever you where, you had to drop, cover and hold. At 9.26 not one single person hid under their shopping trolley. Is NZ prepared for another quake. And considering the mass mayhem that happened when Virginia got hit by the earthquake last year, perhaps we do need to think on these things. This said, I am not sure those drills are really efficient as they can not prepare for the level of stress one experiences when an earthquake occurs. I went through some small ones whilst living in Cyprus, and although I knew what I was supposed to do, did nothing!
