Casablanca - Apocalyptic Youth

I know it's been mentioned here before, but this album took me totally by surpirse, it's absolutely fantastic!

One minute it's Skid Row type riff rock [Deliberately Wasted] and the next it's a mash up of Thin Lizzy and Tom Petty [The Juggler].

Image wise, on the album cover, they look like your average sleaze rock band.....but the sound and style is anything but. The songs on this album are brilliantly executed, as is the production from Chris Laney.

I just looked on the cd reviews here and it got 91%......which is richly deserved.

From the cover, I thought it was going to be more shit like 'Kissin' Dynamite' and 'Bai Bang.' But this is in a different league altogether. At times, I was hearing a sleazier 'Dynamite Jet Saloon' era 'Dogs D'amour' and old school 'Kiss.'

Definitely schizophrenic in areas. Oddly enough I think the second half is stronger than the first, which is rare for albums these days. I absolutely love Secret Agents of Lust and Beast of Summer. But songs like Rich Girl and Downtown...I will push the skip button everytime.

Overall I like and can hear the influences you mention.
