I just paid $200+ for one stinking ticket! It seems ALL of the cheap seats were sold out and only floor tix were left! It's usually the other way around! Now usually I get 2 tix and take someone with me but not at these prices! Damn! I didn't even spend that much on GNR for 2 tickets last fall! This will be my first concert going alone since 1995 when I saw Pink Floyd's farewell tour! Rammstein played around the corner about a year back. I really dig their music and their shows are spectacular but I didn't go. Reason was the insane ticket price. Howcome that if Within Temptation plays the same venue their tickets go for about 65% less? They're a major act as well and OK they don't have all the pyro, but 65% less? But we are used to paying rediculous prices to see bands in Australia. Even with our dollar well above the US dollar, we are still paying $150+ to see a decent band in a decent arena. Supply and demand i guess. See, there's a lot of great bands and just as with sports I just don't understand why someone should be a millionaire just because he has some or even a lot of talent.

Let me rephrase that, I don't understand why someone should at all costs become a millionaire, just because of that said talent. What's wrong with living in a normal home and driving a normal car, just like most of us do?

I'm very much a capitalist in the sense that I think that working hard should earn you money. Sitting on you ass for over 10 years and than going on a world tour hardly sounds like hard work.

I also went to visit Halestorm, Shinedown and their support act and although I thought 1,5 hrs for the main act to perform wasn't really much, I thought the price (18 Euros for 3 bands) was more than reasonble. And to me a band like Shinedown at the moment is a lot more relevant than Van Halen or any of the bigger names for that matter. I paid £14 plus bkg fee a few days ago to see Halestorm and Shinedown (plus a decent opening band) now that is top value and if you lot keep paying this kind of money it will never ever stop!!!!
