Bon Jovi meets Backstreet Boys ??????

Hi everyone,

I'm from Germany and I heard rumors that the new single of Bon Jovi "It's my life" was written by the songwriters of the Basckstreet Boys...
Does anybody have more infos?
(There are no songwriters mentioned on the single-CD here in Germany... that's strange enough!)

Britney and bsb.....

Lets face it as much as we may not like the way multi-platform artists are the popular thing these days - they certainly have the best songwriters, backing musicians, producers etc brought in by the record companies. Listen to the production of the NSync song Bye Bye Bye. Amazing stuff. It will be interesting to see how well Bon Jovi does in the States with their new song.

cheers

RE: Bon Jovi meets Backstreet Boys ??????

Max Martin is a genius. He is indeed Martin White from It's Alive. If you added a bit more guitar to anything he's written and produced for Backstreet Boys/Britney Spears etc then you'd have a finer honed It's Alive. Max also wrote the Clawfinger-like 'Simon Says' on Swedish female Metal band Drain's second album. He's certainly made more money from producing/writing/engineering for pop acts (first worked on records by Dr Alban and Ace Of Base after quitting It's Alive) than playing Funk Metal and Kiss covers in Swedish clubs.
Remember though that Bon Jovi never really had any hits until they hooked up with Desmond Child. And, as great as they were, the Desmond Child & Rouge albums could hardly be described as full on hard rock!
The fact that Max Martin is involved made me go buy the Backstreet Boys/Britney records!

RE: Bon Jovi meets Backstreet Boys ??????

It has also been widely reported that Max Martin was in fact Lead Singer for Swedish funk metalers 'It's Alive' who had two( to my knowledge) excellent albums out way back when. Certainly worth checking out!

Two points. Why is it that anybody who seems to know anything about the music industry has taken their melodic writing talents elsewhere than the melodic rock scene? For instance, Max Martin, Mutt Lange and Dan Huff. Are we all beating on a dead horse?

Secondly, and I know this is bizarre, but has anyone else noticed that the piano melody line of Britney's 'Baby one more time' is suspiciously like the one in Ten's '10 fathoms deep'? Knowing it's written by a former rock frontman it get's you thinking... doesn't it? Try it and see for yourselves.
