Postage from US to UK

Has anyone ever had any problems in being sent CD's ordered from the US to the UK?

I ordered a whole bunch of stuff from www.secondspin.com ( mars Electric to Nine Days, Sam 7, Neve and Evan and jaron) which was supposedly shipped on 20th Oct, but i haven't recieved it yet. Just wondered if anyone had ever had any horror stories involving postage problems from the US to the UK.....Can stuff be traced if it has got lost?

Thanks

Three of them were insured, but then I had to explain to the postal service why a certain CD may be worth $100 or more. Next thing is getting the money doesn't make it easy to find another copy of a rare item.

Take care
DJ

RE: Postage from US to UK

I've also used Second Spin once or twice with no problems, however, I also reside in the United States.

Occasionally, international shipments can get held up for longer periods of time. While in Amsterdam last year, I sent out postcards that took 3 months to finally show up here in the U.S. I just came back from Germany and Zurich (Hi, Peter!), and none of my post cards (the first one was mailed on the 22nd) has showed up yet. However, something that I mailed off to Zurich from the U.S. on a Saturday, took less than a week to arrive. Go figure...

So, perhaps, your CDs are still on the way. Give it a little more time. Enough people have had no trouble with the company, so I just think it's the international mail's fault.

Rocker Chic

Sometimes when I have ordered from abroad packages get held up for inspection at customs and it can add to the time it takes to deliver. If you pay airmail postage for items from the US it usually takes a week to 10 days but it can be quicker or longer.
I once waited over 2 months for a package from Japan because it was stuck in
customs.
As for tracing it depends on postage methods, if you've insured the package it is possible but uninsured there's little chance of finding it if it's missing.
I wouldn't worry at this stage. Have faith.
